BLUE
HEAVEN is Asheville, NC's newest swing band. Fronted by
singer April Zace who delivers her solid rhythm and smoky alto
vocals to the majority of the band's setlist, they are a
dancer's band and provide a great ride for the swingdance
enthusiast as well as a good show for the listening audience.
Their repertoire is a delicious offering of the world's
finest songs and tunes delivered with 'swing' in mind. April is
backed up by long time guitarist Gary Mehalick, who has been
performing for over 30 years in the style of Folk, Swing and
Celtic music and has toured extensively throughout the United
States, Canada and Europe. Filling
out the band are Lew Gelfond on awesome swingin' fiddle, Skip
Metheny on drums and Laurie Fisher on upright bass and vocal
harmony. Lew, Skip
and Laurie are longtime contradance musicians who for many years
have been providing dancer’s around the country with memorable
evenings.
